I must note that this guide helped me a lot to get started with the Linux operating system.It explains simply how to assemble it and of course how to use it as well.It's important to note that I didn't read verbatim and I hopped between chapters - as was suggested by the author - and read only what was important information for me at that moment.Regardless, this book can be useful also for the purpose of different individuals who want to remember various details which have already forgotten on this subject.There is no argument that this book useful when you want to use this operating
I am new to Linux and I found this book useful since it's very easy to read and I didn't need much (few hours to read, and few days to configure Ubuntu and to get familiar with commands) to understand Linux better with it.I do not care about grammar mistakes (if it's howeber or however). Book should be about what's inside and not grammar, as long as it's acceptable.I do not rate it 5 starts because I would like it to be deeper a bit.This is still a good purchase for someone who's new to linux (anyone else who isn't - don't bother).
This truly is the ultimate beginners guide to linux. I consider myself technologically challenged and am in awe of Steve Tale who makes it easy for me to follow his guide and understand how to use Linux. It's a lot easier than I thought and I am confident that I will be able to conquer Linux with the help of this book.
This book go straight, to overcome the challenges that a beginner will face to start using Linux. No histories!
Nice text. however tables and screenshots are unreadable.
SUUUPER basic, not a bad beginner read, but if you Linux, you know this stuff.
I am sure the book is well written and contains a lot of information but WHY DID THE EDITORS MAKE THE LINUX COMMAND EXAMPLES IN SUCH TEENY, TINY PRINT? On my Kindle I have selected HUGE type but still need a ten power magnifier to read the small type examples of Lnux commands between paragraphs. The reviews on this page must be written by the purchasers of the print version.
